Houston Property Services Pty Ltd, trading as Houston Property Services, was formed to improve and expand the service delivery available to private property owners in the Real Estate industry.
All too often, the vital property management function is treated as less important than sales by many real estate principals, who add the task of management to the many duties carried by hard working junior personnel. This leads to a high turnover of staff.
At Houston Property Services, we believe both are of equal importance and in addition to this, we are currently expanding our expertise in order to offer Body Corporate services as well. We are excited about this new venture!
James Cathcart is the Principal and Working Director of the company. He commenced working in a family-owned agency in 2007, gaining five years experience in all aspects of the industry, before setting up his own company (Houston Property Services) in 2012. In addition to his extensive property management experience, James’s qualifications in the visual arts assist in coordinating advertising, photography, and other technical functions within the business.
Patricia Cathcart commenced working in property in 1988 after operating a family-owned development company. Although Patricia primarily worked in property sales throughout her early career (earning a place in the top 4% of Queensland’s achievers), she has also fulfilled a variety of different industry roles, giving her a wealth of experience to bring to her work. Patricia is one of the few professionals to fulfil all major roles concurrently such as principal, salesperson and property manager, now adding buyer’s agent to her skillset.
Melissa Cathcart works part time in administration. She has extensive computer system experience and holds tertiary qualifications in both psychology and business. Combined with a sales and service background, Melissa’s role strengthens and enhances the company structure.
Situated in Ashgrove, the office is easily accessible. Our Rent Roll consists of houses of all types, and Strata apartments, both new and aged, across all Brisbane suburbs. Our commitment to excellent management ensures prompt and timely service to both property owners and tenants.
Our senior REIQ trained personnel employ a blend of both experience and good people skills. Every owner is provided with an ongoing preventative maintenance schedule to ensure properties are kept in an ideal marketing condition at all times. This allows the property to compete in all rental and sale markets with the cash flow monitored for minimum disruption.
When the owner is ready to return the property to the sale market, this strategy ensures that the expenditure is kept to a minimum and the capital gain is maximised.
Communication and full reporting to all owners on all matters ensures peace of mind and puts the pleasure back into owning property.
